Highland Retreat offers a fully self contained luxury 2 bedroom apartment in the spectacular Byron Bay hinterland of N.S.W.near the village of Clunes, between Bangalow and Lismore.

Whether you select the Glenview or the Cameron suite (both opened August 2013) your beautiful bedroom is sure to delight with its queen size bed and luxurious bedding, en-suite and spacious modern layout.
Your guest lounge has a range of board and card games to enjoy, a small library and a Wii system to combine some exercise and fun .

The opportunities are endless. Relax in the beautiful setting, have a game of table tennis on Friday night at the community hall, enjoy trivia night on Thursday at the Eltham pub, wander down to the local coffee shop and pop in to chat with Leonie at the Old Romantic Shack.
Our games room (when complete) offers table tennis, pool and darts, a foosball table and boulle. We also have a mini badminton net, swing ball, and a giant outside chess board is planned – just for something different.

At the beautiful authentic Clunes village, 6 minutes walk away, you will receive old fashioned country hospitality at the general store, the bottle shop with its unique boutique wines and at the delightful cafe, Old Romantic Shack, with its wonderful gifts and unusual eclectic treasures. Enjoy the experience of our local service station where they still serve the petrol for you.
Horse riding is just down the road, hot air balloons float serenely by our property on the weekend (book in Byron Bay). You may even want to try your skills in circus acrobatic classes in Byron Bay – from beginners through to the more seasoned athlete. Whether you are into the extreme sports or want to take in the beauty of rolling beaches, quaint cafes, stylish boutiques and restaurants of almost every nationality and price bracket – it is here on your doorstep. You will find restaurants to suit all occasions – a plethora of choice within 20 minutes of your relaxing accommodation.
Of course, if you want to relax and not move from our beautiful setting, you can toast marshmallows in the fire pit, walk down to the creek and explore our adjoining 100 acres, check out (and feel free to advise us) on the development of our herb garden and select some fresh herbs for the BBQ (if you’re lucky!). If that sounds too active, relax with a book, music, get an inhouse massage from our local therapist, open a beer or pour a glass of champagne and enjoy the beauty of nature as the sun sets over the ridge,
